Pensiongate net closing in on Whittier College Trustee Alfred Villalobos... MORE
Did you really want Trustee Geoffrey C. Shepard, who continued with Dick Nixon even after Watergate, and wrote a book entitled 'The Secret Plot To Make Ted Kennedy President: Inside the Real Watergate Conspiracy', making decisions for Whittier College, or anyone else, even himself? Whittier College needs to shake off the corrupt and corrupting Nixon legacy, and this requires an effort Geoffrey Shepard can only hinder. MORE
The deeply troubling history of Whittier College Trustee David D. Mandarich: The Judge said the evidence against Mandarich was strong, shortly thereafter the Judge's daughter's death was reported (2-26-92), a death claimed to be foul play; then the case against David D. Mandarich, for laundering money through political contributions, was dismissed (5-12-92). Today, Trustee Mandarich remains the highest paid executive in Colorado, even though the company formula for his compensation is reportedly being violated as the company's share value falls. Along the way, companies under Mandarich's direction have been deeply involved in the Savings & Loan scandal, been the subject of SEC action for securities law violations, and have been successfully sued for building homes subject to structural problems. While Trustee Alfred Villalobos had already been dumped, after whittiergate
exposed his role as 'El Jardinero' (doing the dirty work) for bigger (White)
real estate movers and shakers, like Richard Gilchrist and David Mandarich (reminding
us of Cuban "Plumbers' going to prison while then President Nixon walked),
Whittier College has still not renamed Villalobos Hall, built with money stolen
from public workers' pension funds. whittiergate suggests renaming Villalobos
Hall with a name signifying the actual source of the funds used to build it:
Pensioners' Hall - or return that money to the pension funds from which it was
stolen.
